Near Death Experience

Near Death Experience – Now dying on the other hand, one can certainly feel that. The Nihileafs are in deep philosophical territory, in the brief exchange they cover the expanse of topics of epistemology and eschatology, paradox and conundrum, the inexplicable and the unexplainable. How can one experience something that is the end of experience? As for the intersection of fear and death, should one be scared of something that can’t be experienced? Certainly one does not want any pain or suffering that leads up to their death, but then it happens and it is over. There is no more feeling. Stoke does not fear death, Brump does. I suspect part of the fear of death is the realization one has that they are dead, that they are forever gone and are no longer of this world. That realization never occurs, you die before you know you are dead. Though admittedly that is little comfort for most and no solace for Brump. Perhaps the thought depresses you. I myself often wonder what my reaction would be to learn that I am dead. I think it would be a mixture of shock and disappointment, regret and sadness at what had past. Then I remember I won’t be able to think or feel anything! All we can experience is the dying, however long or slow or painful or painless or gradual or near instantaneous or spread over a lifetime that it may be. In dying one may experience unbearable suffering. Then again is living any different… – Zachary
